The first step is to imagine your perfect piece of jewelry. What do you want to create: a ring, pendant or earrings? I’ll help you capture your ideas in a sketch, even if you don’t know how to draw. Together we will define every detail of the design and its meaning.
I will show you a variety of metals (silver, gold, copper) and precious or semi-precious stones. You will learn about the properties of each material to choose the one that best suits your design.
Now the exciting part begins: the creation of your jewelry. In the workshop, you will learn and work with different techniques according to your design:
Metal cutting: Use a jeweler’s saw to shape the pieces of your design.
Texturing and engraving: Experiment with hammering, stamping or engraving to personalize your jewelry with unique textures.
Embossing: If you want to add volume or reliefs, we will mold the metal with this technique.
Soldering: Joins different parts of your jewelry with heat and precision.
Lost wax: If your design requires it, we can sculpt it first in wax before converting it into metal.
Stone setting: Learn how to set gems in your piece, either bezel set, claw set or pavé set.
Filigree: If you like delicate designs, we could work with fine metal threads to decorate it.
You will have time to experiment and discover which technique best fits your style.
When your jewelry is ready, you will learn how to give it the final touch:
Polishing: Make your jewelry sparkle with a mirror finish or choose a matte or satin finish if you prefer something more subtle.
Oxidation or patination: If you are looking for an aged effect or a contrast in the colors, we will apply this treatment.
Finishing touches: Add personalized touches such as engravings or extra decorations.
When your jewelry is finished, you can take it with you! It will be a unique souvenir, made by you and full of emotions.
